Senior UX/UI Designer

Role overview

We are hiring a seasoned Senior UX/UI Designer to shape high-impact digital products in a complex, heavily regulated environment. The position blends strategic product thinking with hands-on execution, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to build digital experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and built to scale.

You will own the design process for web and mobile products from early discovery through final delivery. The work will involve close collaboration with cross-functional partners to ensure every solution balances business priorities, technical constraints, and user needs.

Location and reporting

This is an on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role reports to the Head of Design.

Contract details

The assignment is for 12 months and is extendable.

Key responsibilities

• Steer the complete product design process, starting with discovery and research and continuing through wireframes, prototypes, visual design, testing, and implementation support.
• Design user flows, customer journeys, information architecture, wireframes, and polished interfaces for digital products across web and mobile platforms.
• Produce clear design documentation and specifications that help engineering teams implement the intended experience accurately.
• Make sure the final product meets expectations for usability, accessibility, and localization.
• Run workshops, design critique sessions, and alignment meetings with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Communicate concepts, design decisions, and recommendations clearly to leadership-level audiences.
• Convert complex business and technical requirements into straightforward and user-friendly digital journeys.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Research, and business teams to keep delivery aligned.
• Coordinate external design partners and vendor teams, including briefing, review, and quality control.
• Mentor other designers and share constructive feedback to raise the quality of output across the team.
• Support on-time delivery while keeping work aligned with wider organizational goals.
• Contribute to design system development and governance, including components and design tokens.
• Help maintain consistency across products and workstreams.
• Assist with design operations, file organization, documentation, and quality checks.
• Encourage reusable assets and scalable design practices.

Required experience and qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in product design, UX design, UI design, or a closely related field.
• A strong history of designing and launching digital products at scale.
• Experience handling several design efforts at once while working with varied stakeholder groups.
• A portfolio that demonstrates user-centered thinking, strong problem-solving, and clear business impact.
• Advanced working knowledge of Figma, FigJam, Miro, Jira, and similar collaboration tools.
• Experience building prototypes, design systems, and implementation-ready specifications for developers.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Arabic language ability is strongly preferred.

Preferred background

• Experience in healthcare, government, fintech, or another highly regulated industry.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
• Experience creating bilingual interfaces and right-to-left digital experiences.
• Exposure to analytics or experimentation tools such as GA4 or Mixpanel.
• Understanding of privacy, security, and compliance needs in digital products.
• Experience conducting usability testing and customer research.
