The organisation is guided by three core values: client success, One Davy, and building a proud legacy. You will join a team of more than 900 people with opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.
Role overview
An opportunity is available within the Information Systems team for a Senior UI/UX Designer. The role focuses on shaping software and platform experiences that address client needs by turning business requirements and technical constraints into effective design solutions. You will be expected to lead workshops and apply methods such as user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes to create clear, usable experiences.
What you'll do
- Run discovery and requirements workshops to uncover user needs, business objectives, and technical boundaries.
- Convert complex ideas into user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and polished visual designs.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to shape and deliver solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support product direction through research, ideation, prototyping, and usability testing.
- Create responsive experiences for mobile, tablet, and desktop using a mobile-first approach.
- Spot usability issues in both new and existing products and recommend practical, evidence-led improvements.
- Review current applications and improve usability, accessibility, and overall user experience over time.
- Use analytics, user insights, and testing feedback to guide design choices and understand results.
- Make sure design output aligns with usability requirements, WCAG accessibility standards, and brand guidelines.
- Coordinate with front-end developers to protect implementation quality and preserve design intent.
- Help build, refine, and maintain design systems, patterns, and best practices.
- Explain design decisions clearly to audiences ranging from senior leadership to delivery teams.
- Follow the relevant risk, compliance, policies, and procedures connected to the role.
Requirements
- Please include links to your three strongest pieces of work, such as case studies, feature work, or a portfolio. Applications without these links will not be reviewed.
- At least 5 years of experience in UX/UI design or product design roles.
- A strong portfolio that shows end-to-end design thinking and structured problem solving.
- A degree in Design or a related discipline such as Graphic, Product, Industrial, or Architecture, or equivalent professional experience.
- Solid understanding of user-centred design principles and methods.
- Hands-on experience with user research, usability testing, A/B testing, and rapid prototyping.
- Strong capability in responsive and mobile-first design.
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional product environments.
- Ability to shape design direction and contribute to broader product and organisational strategy.
- Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, and critical reasoning skills.
- Ability to turn complex information into clear and practical design outcomes.
- Strong visual and verbal communication skills.
Tools and technical skills
- Proficiency with common design tools such as Figma and FigJam.
- Experience producing both low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Working knowledge of design systems and component-based design.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is beneficial but not required.
Preferred experience
- Building and maintaining design systems across multiple platforms.
- Programming experience or the ability to code simple prototypes.
- Interactive design and animation experience.
- Experience designing complex enterprise or platform products.
