Role overview
The Senior Team Lead – FinCrime will be part of the BFS vertical and will oversee financial crime operations. This position requires 6–8 years of relevant experience supporting clients in the UK, Ireland, and other global markets. The role is centered on maintaining strong compliance standards, improving operational performance, and leading a team working on AML/KYC and transaction monitoring activities.
Core competencies
- Solid grasp of AML/CFT rules, sanctions screening, and common financial crime patterns.
- Preferred certifications include CAMS, CFE, or Lean Six Sigma.
- Proven ability to guide, coach, and develop analysts to meet quality and delivery goals.
- Hands-on exposure to KYC/CDD/EDD reviews, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity identification.
- Comfortable driving process enhancements that improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Ability to work closely with Quality, Training, and Compliance stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily KYC and AML workflow while ensuring client policies and regulatory standards are followed.
- Guide team members so SLA, quality, and productivity commitments are consistently achieved.
- Review cases, including new and periodic checks, to confirm accuracy and compliance before final submission.
- Track performance through KPIs, dashboards, and MIS reports, and escalate concerns or deviations promptly.
- Serve as the initial escalation contact for operational problems and help resolve issues quickly.
- Support process improvement efforts and assist with new controls, system upgrades, and workflow changes.
- Coordinate with Quality, Training, and Compliance teams for audits, updates, and feedback cycles.
- Maintain complete documentation and stay audit-ready in line with client and regulatory expectations.
- Help deliver BAU work and transition activities while meeting planned timelines.
- Coach team members through regular feedback sessions, mentoring, and performance discussions.
- Handle larger teams or multiple queues/processes as needed.
- Support client calls, governance meetings, and reporting requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex cases and process-related clarifications.
- Contribute to capacity planning, attrition management, and productivity improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in financial crime or related operations.
- Strong analytical and decision-making ability in investigations.
- Good working knowledge of AML, KYC, transaction monitoring, and fraud processes.
- Prior experience managing people, queues, and workload allocation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong delivery standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to support global working hours when required.
- Capability to manage larger teams or multiple queues/processes.
