Job description
About the role
Claritev is looking for a Senior Scrum Master to support a collaborative, highly engaged development environment. The role is focused on helping agile teams deliver value iteratively, improving how they work together, and removing barriers that could slow delivery. This is a remote position in the United States.
The team values innovation, accountability, diversity, and a proactive mindset. The right person will do well in a fast-moving setting, stay comfortable with ambiguity, and help teams grow stronger through continuous improvement and servant leadership.
What you'll do
- Lead Scrum events for two or more teams or programs, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Help teams become more effective, predictable, self-directed, and empowered.
- Facilitate team and program sessions such as PI Planning, dependency coordination, and execution workshops.
- Identify, monitor, and manage dependencies, risks, and blockers across teams to keep delivery on track.
- Coach teams on agile delivery practices and help build a mindset of ongoing improvement.
- Assess team maturity and delivery performance, then review findings with the team to uncover improvement opportunities.
- Define, follow, and communicate KPIs, metrics, and overall program health with practical insights from sprint and program analysis.
- Communicate clearly with leaders and executives about progress, risks, and major decisions.
- Support release planning and deployment coordination across teams and stakeholders.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts at both team and program level.
- Contribute ideas and learnings through the Scrum Master community of practice.
- Apply change management thinking and help teams navigate change effectively.
- Take on additional duties and qualifications as needed based on business requirements.
Scope of work
The role operates with minimal supervision and calls for sound independent judgment. It involves complex and varied work, requiring broad Scrum Master experience and the ability to identify issues, spot trends, recommend actions, and evaluate outcomes. The position works with both internal and external stakeholders while keeping customer needs at the center of decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science, or 4 years of related experience.
- At least 5 years of Scrum Master experience, including work with multiple agile teams or programs.
- Scrum Master certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with scaled agile frameworks is required; SAFe experience is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of other agile methods such as Kanban.
- Practical experience using Jira in an IT environment.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including speaking, writing, and listening, along with solid project management, analysis, organization, interpersonal, prioritization, multitasking, planning, and technical abilities.
- Strong executive communication skills and the ability to present effectively to business and leadership teams.
- Proven ability to manage dependencies across teams, systems, and stakeholders.
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships across the organization.
- Experience facilitating teams and large group sessions such as PI Planning and program reviews.
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment to follow-through.
- Ability to juggle several simultaneous projects while continuously reassessing priorities as business needs change.
- Confidence presenting information and answering questions from leadership and internal or external customers.
- Flexible, creative problem-solving skills and an eye for process improvement.
- Ability to anticipate business needs and think like a business owner.
- Willingness to follow corporate work ethic standards.
