Job description
Role Overview
This position is for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support construction projects in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on cost planning, measurement, tender support, contract administration, and commercial control across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Build project budgets, prepare cost estimates, and create financial forecasts.
- Produce Bills of Quantities and carry out detailed quantity measurements and take-offs.
- Support tendering processes, assess submitted bids, and contribute to contract discussions.
- Track project spending and apply measures to keep costs under control.
- Handle valuations, variations, claims, and final account preparation.
- Administer and review contract terms throughout the full duration of the project.
- Deliver regular commercial progress updates and cost reports to management.
- Spot commercial exposures and suggest practical, value-driven remedies.
- Work closely with project teams to help ensure smooth and timely project completion.
Requirements
- A Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a similar field.
- Previous professional experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
- Good knowledge of estimating, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
- Hands-on experience with variations, claims, and final account closeout.
- Strong analytical ability along with solid negotiation and communication skills.
- Capable of juggling multiple priorities in a busy, deadline-driven setting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; quantity surveying software is a plus.
