Role Summary
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead cost planning, budget control, and contract administration across construction projects from early-stage planning through completion. This role requires over 15 years of professional experience and is responsible for keeping projects financially controlled, contractually compliant, and aligned with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Build detailed project cost estimates, budget plans, and cash flow projections.
- Handle both pre-contract and post-contract QS duties, including bills of quantities, tender documentation, and contract drafting support.
- Carry out cost assessments, value engineering exercises, and feasibility reviews.
- Review bids and quotations from contractors and subcontractors and advise on award decisions.
- Oversee contract management tasks such as claims, variations, and change instructions.
- Track project spending and produce regular cost updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline is required.
- Professional membership or accreditation such as MRICS, AIQS, CIOB, or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in quantity surveying is needed, including a minimum of 5 years at a senior level.
- Background in major construction or infrastructure projects is essential.
- Solid understanding of FIDIC and other internationally recognized contract forms is required.
- Excellent skills in negotiation, communication, and team leadership are important.
- Ability to use quantity surveying software such as CostX, Candy, or comparable tools is expected.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability are necessary.
