Job description

Company overview

Redpath Partners is partnering with a well-regarded, progressive consultancy that specialises in project management, project advisory, planning, and development services across New Zealand. The firm is recognised for its strong technical capability, commercial judgement, and team-oriented way of working. It supports prominent clients with early-stage strategy, planning, and end-to-end project delivery, and with a healthy pipeline of work and a clear growth plan, the business is now seeking a senior project manager to oversee a portfolio of projects for long-standing clients.

Role overview

In this senior role, you will take accountability for complex projects from feasibility and design through procurement and delivery. You will be the main point of contact for clients, keeping projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with agreed scope while also managing stakeholder expectations and contributing to the consultancy’s broader business growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct all project activities across the full project lifecycle.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and key deliverables.
  • Handle procurement and contract administration.
  • Manage programme and cost controls.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and build strong client relationships.
  • Oversee design management through the consenting process.
  • Coordinate external consultants and promote best-practice construction delivery.
  • Resolve technical issues related to construction delivery.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in a project management consultancy in New Zealand or Australia, with exposure to vertical construction delivery.
  • Proven background leading commercial projects valued between $10m and $100m.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively, including negotiating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full lifecycle of vertical construction projects.
  • Solid understanding of New Zealand building standards and the tendering process.
  • A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.

Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary of $150,000 to $170,000, depending on capability and experience.
  • Direct access to the Regional and National Manager of Project Management.
  • Opportunity to work on high-profile projects with strong variety and scale.
  • Secure long-term prospects backed by a strong pipeline of upcoming work.
  • Exposure to challenging, diverse, and complex projects that strengthen your portfolio.
  • Clear pathway toward progression into a Project Director role.
