Role overview
Stantec is seeking an experienced construction administration and project management professional to support owner representation across multiple sites. The role focuses on supervising building and facility construction connected to government and defense work, with responsibilities spanning project coordination, contract administration, engineering inspections, quality control, progress reporting, and health and safety checks.
The position calls for strong English communication skills, a client-facing approach, and the ability to work effectively in demanding environments. Background in healthcare-related projects such as hospitals, clinics, or laboratories is considered an advantage.
What you will do
- Carry out program and project management objectives as defined and approved by the client.
- Provide management guidance and recommend actions on policy-related matters to client teams.
- Help ensure project goals stay aligned with schedule, cost, and budget expectations.
- Support client personnel in coordinating planning, scoping, design development, and construction activities for assigned projects.
- Assist in combining project requirements, managing budgets and timelines as directed, and acting as a contact point for assigned work.
- Support the coordination of planning, design, cost engineering, construction, real estate, and contracting functions while factoring in client needs and commitments from other agencies.
- Help define project scope, criteria, schedules, milestones, budgets, dependencies, responsibilities, risks, contingencies, and performance measures.
- Contribute to operating budget inputs for assigned projects, subject to final client approval.
- Support training and mentoring efforts by sharing subject matter expertise and helping evaluate learning needs and course objectives.
- Provide oral and written translation support for client staff when needed.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A university degree is required.
- Overall professional experience of 15 to 20 years is expected.
- At least 5 years of relevant exposure to healthcare projects such as hospitals, clinics, or laboratories is preferred.
- A background in civil engineering or architecture is required.
- Prior PMC experience is necessary.
- Strong written English skills and fluent English communication are required.
- The ideal candidate should be energetic, client-facing, and able to work with diverse groups under pressure for long periods.
