Job description

About the company

Knit is an AI-first consumer research platform designed to help brands run primary research faster and with less manual effort. Using its Researcher-Driven AI approach, the company has reduced the full quant and qual research workflow from weeks to days, and in some cases hours, for more than 50 enterprise customers, including Amazon, T-Mobile, Mars, and NASCAR. The company’s goal is to make high-quality research more scalable and accessible, while reshaping how insights teams work from survey creation through stakeholder-ready reporting.

Role overview

Knit is seeking a Senior Product Manager to help shape what customer understanding looks like in an AI-native environment. In this role, you will identify the most important problems, define the right product bets, and work closely with engineering, research, and go-to-market teams to deliver products used by more than 50 Fortune 1000 brands. As the product surface area expands quickly, the person who owns a surface will have significant influence over the direction of the product.

You will work in short two-week shipping cycles with a strong engineering team, enabling fast movement from idea to production. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Product, CTO, CEO, in-house PhD-level researchers, and engineering leaders. This is a high-ownership position on a senior team, where strong judgment and execution are expected to improve both the product and the company’s pace.

What success looks like

  • Higher adoption of shipped features among the target customer segment, especially for new or substantially improved capabilities.
  • Reliable delivery against outcome-based roadmap commitments, with fewer scope changes during execution and clearer boundaries around priorities.
  • Measurable customer and business outcomes such as expansion revenue, win rate, retention, and customer value created through your work.
  • Better alignment across engineering, research, and GTM teams around the most important problems and the reasons behind them.

Responsibilities

  • Own a significant product area from end to end, covering discovery, delivery, and adoption.
  • Create clear product specifications, make disciplined prioritization decisions, and work closely with engineering to ship outcomes rather than just features.
  • Build strong firsthand understanding of customer needs by spending time with users and buyers, while also collaborating with the research team.
  • Contribute to product decisions in an AI-native setting, including evaluation approaches, quality feedback loops, failure-mode handling, and deciding when to rely on the model versus human judgment.
  • Act as a multiplier across R&D and GTM by creating clarity, reducing churn during execution, and keeping teams aligned on priorities.
  • Bring a company-level perspective on quarterly planning, competitive positioning, and customer storytelling.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Product Manager, preferably in a strong product culture that demanded rigorous thinking about customer needs and tradeoffs.
  • Experience taking a product from zero to meaningful customer usage, ideally in an early-stage startup environment such as seed or Series A.
  • Practical exposure to AI or ML products, with curiosity about how large language models work and active use of AI tools in your own workflow.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to produce concise specs and run effective meetings.
  • Enough technical depth to discuss architecture and tradeoffs with engineers in a meaningful way.
  • Confidence working independently without relying on a large support structure.

Preferred experience

  • Prior founder experience or experience serving as the first product manager at an early-stage startup.
  • Background building tools for researchers or working in the market research space.

Benefits and compensation

The package includes a competitive salary, and a commission plan may apply depending on the role. Additional benefits include equity options, medical/dental/vision coverage, other supplemental insurance, a company laptop, a one-time technology stipend for onboarding, a 401(k) plan with company match, flexible time off, hybrid working, and more.

The stated salary range for this position is USD 190,000 to USD 220,000 annually. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and level at hire.

Company values

  • Strive to improve a little every day by keeping a growth mindset and looking for ways to make the business better.
  • Take action with a strong desire to win and hold yourself accountable for results.
  • Focus on the highest-impact work and keep priorities centered on what matters most.
