Role overview

IDEXX Veterinary Software is expanding, and the team is looking for a Product Manager to own key areas of ezyVet. In this position, you will help shape premium software used by veterinary professionals across the globe.

This role suits someone who enjoys collaborating closely with users, turning feedback into meaningful product improvements, and taking on the next step in a product management career. You will work within a cross-functional squad alongside Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to define initiatives, deliver features, and influence the direction of the product.

IDEXX Veterinary Software is part of IDEXX and builds technology that supports the health and wellbeing of pets, people, and livestock worldwide. The Auckland office serves as a global software centre of excellence, where cloud-based platforms and applications are designed and developed for a broad set of animal-health needs.

The company is building a vertical SaaS ecosystem covering practice management, diagnostics, payments, client engagement, analytics, and insights.

About ezyVet

ezyVet is IDEXX’s flagship veterinary practice management system. It helps clinics streamline operations, improve communication with clients, cut down administrative work, and spend more time focusing on patient care.

The product is used by veterinary practices around the world and supports the day-to-day work of busy clinics.

What you will do

  • Work with Engineering and Product Design to shape and deliver high-value improvements.
  • Lead product discovery by partnering with customers and internal stakeholders to uncover important problems.
  • Carry out market and user research to guide product decisions and prioritisation.
  • Regularly connect with veterinary customers and industry stakeholders to collect feedback and insights.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and internal champion for your product area.
  • Own discovery work, business case development, and feature prioritisation.
  • Keep the product backlog structured, clear, and prioritised.
  • Run sprint planning and refinement sessions with engineering teams.
  • Support delivery through continuous collaboration with engineers.
  • Share product priorities, initiatives, and progress with internal teams and stakeholders.

What you should bring

  • Proven background in managing the full lifecycle of software products as they evolve.
  • Experience working closely with Agile engineering teams to build customer-focused solutions.
  • Strong ability to discover problems and solve them effectively.
  • Experience using customer or market research to shape product direction.
  • Confidence guiding teams through iterative development in a fast-moving environment.
  • Clear communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience handling multi-layered projects or broader product ownership responsibilities.
  • Well-organised, adaptable, and attentive to detail.
