Role summary
A client in the public sector is looking for a Senior Product Manager to guide the end-to-end creation, rollout, and ongoing improvement of complex IT products. The role is based in Toronto, Ontario and is onsite. It is a full-time assignment lasting 246 business days, with the possibility of extension. The pay rate is CAD 95.00 per hour.
What you will do
You will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, while working across engineering, business, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that are useful, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. The position involves shaping product decisions from discovery through launch, leading product planning, and making sure the final solution supports both customer needs and business priorities.
- Collect, refine, and rank product and customer needs.
- Define and maintain the product vision.
- Ensure the product direction supports the organization’s broader strategy and objectives.
- Develop a strong understanding of the customer journey and experience.
- Spot product gaps and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Bring forward ideas that can expand market share.
- Strengthen customer experience and support growth.
- Build alignment around the product vision with internal teams and external partners.
- Create pricing and positioning approaches for products.
- Convert product strategy into detailed requirements, prototypes, epics, and user stories.
- Prioritize work based on business value and customer impact.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver quickly and efficiently.
- Support product launches and coordinate with public relations, executives, and other product managers.
- Review promotional plans to confirm they match the product strategy and communicate the right message.
- Serve as a product advocate to increase awareness and understanding.
- Engage customers directly to gather feedback on products and services.
Must-have experience
The ideal candidate should have substantial experience managing product vision, strategy, and roadmap development for sophisticated IT environments. You should be comfortable leading cross-functional teams, making sound prioritization decisions, and handling the full product lifecycle from concept to launch. Experience turning strategy into backlog items, working closely with engineers on technical topics, and navigating both modern platforms and legacy integrations is essential. Familiarity with Azure DevOps is also required.
