Role overview
Qatar Free Zones Authority is hiring a Senior Procurement Specialist to oversee procurement activities from start to finish and help drive strategic sourcing initiatives. The position plays an important part in securing value for money, improving operational performance, and maintaining compliance with internal rules and applicable regulations.
Core responsibilities
- Handle the complete procurement workflow, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, and contract award.
- Make sure all procurement work follows internal procedures, policies, and regulatory obligations.
- Take the lead in supplier negotiations to achieve strong pricing, favorable commercial terms, and clear service expectations.
- Carry out market analysis to discover new suppliers and strengthen sourcing options.
- Develop and sustain productive relationships with major vendors to support dependable long-term partnerships.
- Track procurement schedules and help ensure goods and services are delivered on time.
- Review procurement information and spending patterns to spot savings and efficiency improvements.
- Work with departments to build and implement annual procurement plans that support business priorities.
- Draft procurement summaries, reports, and performance updates for leadership review.
- Maintain accurate records, supporting documentation, and audit-ready files throughout the procurement process.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a similar discipline, along with 5 to 8 years of experience in procurement or sourcing. A solid grasp of procurement operations, tendering, and contract administration is essential. Prior exposure to supplier negotiations, vendor oversight, and cost analysis is also required. Experience using ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics or comparable systems will be considered an advantage.
