Role Overview
An established organization in Fujairah Emirate is hiring a Senior Procurement Officer to oversee the complete purchasing lifecycle within a centralized procurement setup. The role focuses on sourcing raw materials, machinery, spare parts, explosives used in quarrying, and other operational supplies while balancing speed, cost efficiency, quality standards, and vendor performance across several business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle procurement from start to finish for raw materials, machinery spares, explosives for quarry operations, and day-to-day consumables.
- Create and execute sourcing plans that improve savings and reinforce centralized buying practices.
- Search for, assess, and register suitable suppliers while keeping the approved vendor list current.
- Track market movement and price shifts to make smarter buying decisions and time purchases effectively.
- Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, contract terms, payment conditions, and delivery commitments.
- Oversee supplier agreements and address issues related to quality, commercial terms, or delivery performance.
- Support cross-border procurement, including imports, transport coordination, and customs documentation needs.
- Work closely with production, project, and warehouse teams to anticipate material needs and avoid interruptions.
- Keep an eye on stock levels to reduce shortages and avoid unnecessary overstocking.
- Raise and process requisitions and purchase orders in ERP systems with correct technical details.
- Verify that purchased goods and equipment meet technical, quality, and safety specifications.
- Follow internal procurement procedures and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Compile procurement dashboards and reports covering supplier performance, pricing analysis, and realized savings for leadership review.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- CIPS certification or a similar professional credential will be considered an advantage.
- Between 5 and 8 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, construction materials, mining, quarrying, or other heavy industrial settings.
- Prior exposure to a centralized procurement function is required.
- Good knowledge of construction materials, industrial spare parts, and international purchasing workflows.
