Job description

About the Role

Join the Energy Market Authority and help shape the talent base that will support Singapore’s energy transition. The power sector is a major contributor to the country’s emissions, and Singapore is working toward net-zero by 2050 through cleaner power generation, renewable energy expansion, regional power imports, lower-carbon alternatives, and smarter grid solutions. A strong, adaptable workforce is central to making this transition successful.

This role sits at the centre of workforce development for a rapidly changing sector. You will help plan, attract, and grow the skills needed for the future energy landscape while supporting national efforts to build a resilient, sustainable, and innovation-led energy ecosystem.

Why This Role Matters

You will be contributing to one of Singapore’s most important long-term transformations. The work is closely tied to sustainability, technology adoption, and the creation of future-ready jobs. It is an opportunity to influence how the energy sector prepares for new demands and capabilities.

  • Help shape the workforce that will drive the energy transition.
  • Contribute to a more resilient and sustainable energy system.
  • Work at the intersection of energy, technology, and talent transformation.
  • Support people and organisations as they adapt to a changing sector.

What You Will Do

  • Lead manpower planning, attraction, and development efforts to build the skills and capabilities needed across areas such as power generation, renewable energy, transmission and distribution, and smart grids.
  • Use labour market data, trends, and insights to create workforce projections, policies, and plans that match sector needs.
  • Spot emerging talent shortages and new capability requirements created by changing technologies and market developments.
  • Work with industry partners and Institutes of Higher Learning to design and roll out programmes that strengthen sector capabilities and future skills.
  • Contribute to workforce strategy and policy direction so that planning stays aligned with national energy objectives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Genuine interest in the energy transition and in building workforce capability.
  • Good grasp of new energy trends, technologies, and the talent implications they create.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to turn priorities into practical initiatives.
  • Excellent partnership-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Background in workforce development, the energy sector, or a related area would be an advantage.

Eligibility

This role is suited to candidates who are motivated by workforce transformation and interested in contributing to Singapore’s energy future. Applicants with relevant experience in workforce planning, energy, or closely related fields are preferred, though the role also values strong strategic and collaboration skills.
