About the role

PCI Pharma Services is looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to own and run the full payroll cycle with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance at the center of the role. The position sits in Stamullen, County Meath, Ireland, and supports a large workforce while ensuring payroll operations align with Irish tax and statutory obligations.

What you'll do

  • Run the complete fortnightly payroll process for more than 700 employees.
  • Calculate pay elements such as wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions with precision.
  • Keep payroll records current and aligned with internal policies.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with Irish statutory requirements, including PAYE, PRSI, and USC reporting.
  • Manage pension records and work with the pension provider, Zurich.
  • Prepare payroll reports for both internal teams and external authorities.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate or correct any mismatches.
  • Respond to employee questions about payslips, tax, and deductions.
  • Partner with HR and Finance on employee data updates and changes.
  • Support audits by organizing and supplying payroll documents and reports.
  • Look for ways to improve payroll workflows, systems, and controls.
  • Guide or support junior payroll colleagues when needed.
  • Carry out additional administrative tasks as assigned.

What we're looking for

  • An IPASS qualification.
  • At least 5 years of payroll specialist experience in Ireland, ideally within a multinational company, and in an organization with 300+ employees.
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish tax rules and Revenue requirements.
  • Advanced Excel capability and confidence using payroll systems; MegaPay is considered an advantage.
  • Experience working with HR platforms; Workday is considered an advantage.
  • A collaborative style with solid communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong accuracy, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and comfort working to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and practical problem-solving.
