About the Company
We are partnering with a large multinational engineering and manufacturing organisation with a strong presence in Cork. The company supports global operations across multiple industries and offers a structured, process-driven finance environment with strong collaboration. They are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join their finance team.
About the Role
An organised and detail-oriented payroll professional is sought to manage weekly, bi-weekly, four-weekly, and monthly payroll operations within Ireland. This role involves close collaboration with Finance, HR, and external payroll providers to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing and employee payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute payroll processing for various company entities.
- Prepare, verify, and submit payroll data to external payroll providers, ensuring accuracy and timely sign-off.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll records and ensure precise disbursement of payments and prompt responses to payroll inquiries.
- Guarantee adherence to statutory regulations, tax requirements, SOX controls, and audit standards in all payroll activities.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and promptly address internal and external audit issues.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with Finance, HR, Payroll Partners, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Proactively manage workload, meet all payroll deadlines, and stay informed about current Irish payroll legislation and regulatory changes.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Possession of an IPASS or a comparable accounting qualification is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in high-volume payroll processing.
- Demonstrated experience managing payroll across multiple entities and different payroll frequencies.
- Familiarity with systems such as Sage, Thesaurus, Collsoft, or similar is advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with Time & Attendance (T&A) systems.
- A proven capacity for collaborative teamwork and building effective cross-functional relationships, both internally and externally.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A self-motivated, goal-oriented individual capable of effectively prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
