Job description

About the Company

Codeword is a communications agency that creates standout campaigns, content, and community-led experiences for brands. The team brings together writers, editors, designers, strategists, videographers, PR specialists, and marketers to help global clients launch startups, run multi-channel programs, expand user bases, and deliver integrated PR and marketing work. The company operates remotely first, with offices in New York City and San Francisco that employees are not expected to visit.

About You

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in project management.
  • You are highly organized and genuinely enjoy managing lists, details, and follow-through.
  • You can build and maintain complex timelines while coordinating across many stakeholders.
  • You are skilled at setting expectations, navigating change, and helping teams produce strong work.
  • You understand agency and team operations well.
  • You have a strong history of handling several workstreams and different types of projects at once.
  • You communicate clearly and help create smooth, transparent communication channels.
  • You can gather, sort, and make sense of messy or unstructured information.
  • You are comfortable using Google Workspace and tools such as Quickbase and Salesforce.

Role Overview

The Senior Operations Project Manager will partner directly with a client to improve and coordinate cross-functional workflows for the Energy and Power team. This person will prepare meeting agendas and materials, capture meeting outcomes, and share the right information with the right stakeholders. The role calls for someone who can confidently run a meeting, take detailed notes, and think several steps ahead to keep work moving. Success in this position means bringing people across levels together so deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and with documentation that is easy for all stakeholders to access. A genuine interest in the energy sector is required, though prior industry experience is not.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution and coordination of a range of projects, including OKR updates and process improvements.
  • Independently manage projects, timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders to understand goals and needs, and facilitate internal meetings and workshops.
  • Create project timelines and plans, then monitor progress against milestones to keep work aligned with organizational deadlines.
  • Prepare internal reports and presentation materials.
  • Maintain project documentation and support information sharing across teams.
  • Handle administrative coordination tasks such as team event planning and expense tracking.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $125,000 annually, based on experience.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours
  • At least 20 days of paid vacation each year
  • 401(k) plan plus financial wellness support
  • Health coverage including medical, dental, life, pet, and mental health support
  • Home office stipend/allowance
  • Wellness credits twice per year
  • Monthly technology credit to help cover internet and phone expenses
  • Comprehensive parental leave

Additional Information

  • Codeword aims to help people earn well while doing work they care about alongside people they enjoy working with.
  • The company values client service highly, with an emphasis on creativity, intelligence, responsiveness, and communication.
  • The team is about 100 people, large enough for major marketing programs but small enough for individuals to shape the culture.
  • The workplace is collaborative and supportive, with an emphasis on career growth together.
  • Respect for personal time is important; after-hours email is discouraged, and evening or weekend work is uncommon.
  • Employees are trusted to get their work done from home, an office, or any time zone.
  • Transparency is a core value, including open calendars, salary tiers, and accessible communication, except for confidential client material.
  • Codeword is part of the global WE Communications family.

Equal Opportunity and Inclusion

The company provides equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, or other protected status. Codeword also works to build a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
