Role Summary

This position is responsible for making sure ocean export shipments are cleared and delivered accurately and on time, while delivering strong customer support and acting as a reliable point of contact for both clients and coworkers.

Key Duties

  • Enter shipment information accurately and promptly into the operational system.
  • Monitor ocean export files, tracking activity, and related reports.
  • Use workflow tools daily to keep shipments moving smoothly.
  • Send documents on time and share shipping updates with overseas contacts and customers.
  • Handle customer and vendor billing with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work with customers to arrange international shipments and maintain service standards.
  • Build and preserve effective relationships with suppliers, including carriers, trucking providers, and other partners.
  • Maintain full compliance with internal procedures and external government regulations.
  • Understand the department workflow and identify better ways to improve efficiency and output.
  • Keep customer standard operating procedures current in the customer SOP records.
  • Meet company KPI requirements and operational targets.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to overseas communications, emails, and requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Escalate issues to management when needed.
  • Follow all company policies and regulations with integrity and accountability.
  • Complete the required 52 hours of training each year and attend training sessions when necessary.
  • Support new team members through knowledge-sharing, guidance, and training.
  • Assist local teams with more complex process questions.
  • Help the Department Manager create work instructions when required.
  • Serve as a department resource for special requests.

Working Conditions

  • Use of common office tools such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, phone, fax, copier, and scanner.
  • Ability to write using pen, pencil, or marker.
  • Work is mainly performed while seated at a desk.

Qualifications

  • College degree or higher.
  • Knowledge of the global logistics industry.
  • At least 5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
