Role overview
An established top-tier professional services firm in Dublin is looking to hire a driven Audit Senior Manager/Director with strong technical audit capability and experience working with SME and owner-managed businesses. This is an excellent chance for someone from a small or medium-sized practice to move up into a fast-growing, leading firm.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business audits from initial planning to final completion, applying an audit approach that is practical and suited to private, entrepreneurial businesses.
- Work closely with business owners and directors to address accounting challenges and provide straightforward, usable advice that supports day-to-day decisions and long-term growth.
- Serve as the main contact for clients, develop strong working relationships with founders and leadership teams, and coordinate with outside parties such as banks and lenders where needed.
- Use your understanding of client needs to spot wider business opportunities and involve specialist internal teams in areas such as tax planning, corporate finance, or succession planning.
- Take ownership of engagement economics, including budgets, staffing plans, and timing, to keep assignments efficient and commercially successful.
- Coach and support managers and senior audit team members, helping them strengthen their technical knowledge and confidence in handling client relationships.
- Encourage the use of cloud accounting systems and modern working methods to make audits smoother and reduce disruption for client finance teams.
Skills and experience
- Background in audit within a small or medium-sized practice is preferred.
- Strong commitment to delivering a high-quality client experience.
- Excellent technical ability with strong attention to detail.
- Clear, confident communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
- Proactive, motivated team player with a collaborative approach.
- Ideally at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
