Job description
About the company
Riyadh Air (RX), based in Saudi Arabia’s capital, is a new national carrier focused on redefining the future of aviation. The airline aims to help position the Kingdom as a major global aviation and trade center and plans to connect Saudi Arabia with more than 100 destinations as a digitally native airline.
Role overview
This position is for a seasoned aviation procurement professional with deep experience in airline spares, technical buying, and AOG support. You will be responsible for leading technical procurement work that keeps aircraft materials, spare parts, and essential services available on time so flight operations remain safe, efficient, and uninterrupted.
The role covers the full procurement cycle for aircraft materials and technical services, working closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Inventory Planning, and other operational teams to ensure quick responses and continuity in day-to-day operations.
You will also handle supplier performance management, commercial negotiations, repair and warranty agreements, and sourcing strategies designed to improve readiness while controlling costs. Because the environment is highly dynamic, you will coordinate across functions for AOG and maintenance requirements, secure delivery commitments, and reduce operational disruption through strong planning and execution.
In addition, you will manage procurement performance reporting, inventory readiness, and budget planning, while making sure all purchasing activity complies with technical, commercial, contractual, and regulatory standards. The role also supports supplier partnerships, procurement capability building, and the development of a strong technical and operational ecosystem for Riyadh Air’s expanding fleet.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical procurement activities for aircraft materials, spare parts, and related services.
- Manage end-to-end purchasing processes for aviation materials and technical support services.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Inventory Planning, and other stakeholders.
- Support AOG and maintenance needs through fast cross-functional action and clear delivery follow-up.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, repair arrangements, and warranty commitments with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and strengthen long-term supplier relationships.
- Develop sourcing approaches that balance operational readiness with cost efficiency.
- Oversee procurement reporting, inventory readiness tracking, and budget planning inputs.
- Ensure compliance with technical, contractual, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to procurement capability improvement and the growth of a high-performing technical ecosystem.
Requirements
- A university degree is required.
- At least 8 years of experience in airline spares and/or aviation procurement within a commercial aviation setting.
- Strong expertise in technical procurement, supplier management, contract management, inventory planning, and AOG support.
- Good understanding of airline operational needs and material availability priorities.
- Professional certifications such as CSCP, CSCM, CIPS, or similar supply chain/procurement credentials are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AOG response procedures and GACA regulatory requirements will be an advantage.
