Job description
Role Overview
This position focuses on environmental and social governance within credit and risk processes, supporting the assessment, monitoring, and improvement of E&S practices across new and existing lending proposals.
Environmental and Social Due Diligence
You will evaluate environmental and social exposure in credit proposals, including sector-level concerns, compliance obligations, required approvals, and borrower-level practices aligned with internal policy.
Risk Identification and Mitigation
The role involves spotting environmental, social, and occupational health and safety risks, then proposing suitable controls, covenants, and mitigation steps to support decision-making.
Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) Management
You will build ESAPs to address identified gaps and work with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure action items are completed within agreed timelines.
Monitoring and Compliance Review
Ongoing borrower adherence to E&S conditions must be tracked through periodic reviews, site visits, documentation checks, and escalation of any non-compliance or deviations.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory
The position requires advising customers on ABCL’s E&S expectations, helping resolve issues, supporting corrective actions, and encouraging awareness of sustainable business practices.
Reporting and Documentation
You will prepare concise inputs for risk and credit committees, keep due diligence records accurate and up to date, maintain monitoring reports, and produce MIS for management review.
Policy and Capability Development
The role also includes tracking developments in regulations and global E&S practices, and contributing to improvements in internal frameworks, processes, and training initiatives for employees and customers.
