Job description

Role overview

This position is focused on managing the lifecycle of bank accounts for executive bodies, including account opening and closure across different currencies. The role also covers oversight of signing authorities for authorized signatories, coordination with banks on financial transfers, and tracking bank statements to complete daily and monthly reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the development of departmental strategy and help align team objectives with the wider goals of the Department of Finance.
  • Help design and maintain policies and procedures across the department’s functions to strengthen internal controls and deliver efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective services.
  • Oversee the opening and closing of bank accounts in multiple foreign currencies for the department and executive bodies, including transfers of funds to those accounts and arranging foreign currency cash amounts when required.
  • Manage all activities related to creating, closing, and updating signing authorities for bank accounts belonging to executive bodies.
  • Review, monitor, and record all revenue-related movements and other receipts, ensuring they are collected and deposited into the department’s account.
  • Supervise bank accounts for executive bodies and carry out settlements and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate closely with banks to follow up on the bank accounts maintained for executive bodies.
  • Provide support to the line manager and take on any other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience and qualifications

  • Ideal candidates should have 6 to 8 years of experience in a comparable role or function.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, or a closely related field suitable for the responsibilities of the role is required.
  • Professional credentials such as CFA or CPA are preferred.

This role is based in Abu Dhabi and is a full-time, on-site position within the Department of Finance.
