Overview
This role sits within a multidisciplinary technical services organization focused on the built environment and known for delivering design-led, innovative, and best-practice solutions. The position has opened because of continued growth, and it is for a Principal/Senior Landscape Architect to support multidisciplinary projects in Saudi Arabia.
You will work alongside designers and engineers as part of a collaborative team, providing high-quality design services to clients. The opportunity is well suited to someone seeking to grow international experience with a globally recognized consultancy. The role calls for strong design capability, a portfolio that demonstrates your work, and the confidence to work independently or lead a team of similar specialists. Designs should be appropriate to the Middle Eastern context.
Technical Competencies
- A relevant degree is required, together with professional affiliation.
- At least 15 years of experience in landscape architecture and site implementation is essential.
- You should have a solid grasp of bid and proposal preparation.
- Experience with design, tendering, and construction workflows is expected.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SketchUp, and Adobe CS5 tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is needed.
- Understanding of sustainable design principles is important.
Behavioral Competencies
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills are required.
- You must be able to lead a design team of around 3 to 4 people.
- The role calls for sound judgment, self-direction, and a proactive approach.
Key Duties
- Define project scope and objectives.
- Plan and deliver design presentations to the client.
- Prepare and maintain the design review programme, ensuring it is followed through.
- Handle financial oversight for the design work.
- Identify and manage project-specific risks.
- Set, align, and confirm design standards and project parameters.
- Track the quality of deliverables throughout the process.
- Prepare design revisions and changes as needed.
- Appoint and coordinate sub-consultants or other supporting services.
- Coordinate technically with discipline leads.
