Studio Scotts is seeking an experienced senior designer to join its close-knit creative team in the Greater Perth area. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, values quality craft, and likes contributing to work that spans brand identity, campaign development, print, digital, and motion.

The studio operates from the edge of Perth’s CBD, within easy walking distance of McIver Station. The team is design-focused, collaborative, and proud of the creative output it delivers for a wide range of clients across sectors.

In this position, you will help shape visual identities and turn strategic thinking into engaging creative work across multiple formats. You will also work directly with clients and internal teams, helping guide discussions, present ideas, and influence the direction of projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of design projects from the early concept stage through to final delivery across brand, corporate, campaign, and digital work.
  • Produce strong creative solutions that communicate a clear story, resonate with target audiences, and support strategic goals.
  • Design polished print materials such as annual reports, publications, packaging, signage, and marketing assets.
  • Create digital and motion-based content including web graphics, social media creative, animations, and video assets.
  • Work with clients to interpret briefs and turn them into compelling design concepts, then present those ideas with confidence and clarity.
  • Partner with creative directors, strategists, and copywriters to strengthen outcomes and maintain high creative standards.
  • Bring fresh thinking to campaign development, brand building, and content strategy.
  • Stay informed about new design directions, media trends, and cultural shifts that can elevate the work.

What the role requires

  • A strong creative point of view supported by refined technical ability.
  • The ability to think strategically and design with a clear sense of purpose anchored in brand storytelling.
  • Confidence in client presentations and creative discussions that influence project direction.
  • Experience guiding or mentoring other designers and contributing constructive creative input.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several deadlines and projects at once.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with project tracking platforms such as Monday.com, Asana, or similar tools.
  • Curiosity about design, social trends, and cultural influences that shape effective creative work.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a design or creative studio setting, particularly in brand and corporate design.
  • A degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Advanced capability in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience building documents in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint templates.
  • Working knowledge of UX principles and how they support UI design.
  • Motion design, animation, or video editing experience is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS would be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Right to work in Australia.

What’s on offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • A supportive studio culture where ideas and perspectives are genuinely valued.
  • A collaborative, design-led environment with a variety of project types and clients.

This opportunity is ideal for a confident, collaborative creative who enjoys shaping brands, contributing ideas, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
