Role Purpose
The Senior FX Trader will support treasury trading activity, liquidity management, market analysis, client pricing, and treasury system improvement initiatives while operating within approved risk and compliance frameworks.
Core Responsibilities
Interest Rate Derivatives Trading and Profit/Loss Management:
- Help drive desk profitability through proprietary trading in interest rate derivatives.
- Oversee open risk exposure in G10 interest rate derivatives, staying within approved trading and risk thresholds.
- Track the daily mark-to-market value of open positions.
FX Liquidity and Funding Support:
- Assist in maintaining the bank’s liquidity position through sound funding and efficient balance-sheet usage.
- Support the Money Market desk with FX swap activity involving local and international counterparties.
- Monitor month-end open FX positions, weekly funding needs, and overall treasury liquidity.
Market Intelligence:
- Continuously assess market movement across G10 economies.
- Share insights on risks and opportunities emerging from market conditions.
Treasury Sales and ALM Support:
- Provide pricing and execution support for derivatives-related Treasury Sales activity to help increase client turnover and revenue.
- Support Asset and Liability Management by executing FX swaps that improve USD liquidity positioning.
- Ensure payment and settlement requirements are met in real time, including high-value transactions.
Trading Systems, Controls, and Process Improvement:
- Assist with system enhancements, control improvements, and process optimization, including testing and whitelabelling solutions for competitive client pricing and market-making in selected currencies.
- Serve as a key user of the Kondor treasury system for position monitoring, MTM valuation, and trade/balance reconciliation.
- Identify and close reporting and system gaps created by upgrades, working with internal teams and external vendors.
- Contribute to treasury technology enhancement efforts, including upgrade planning, testing, and release coordination.

- Effective teamwork and communication with Treasury Sales, ALM, Operations, Risk, and Management stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solving for market, liquidity, trading, and system issues.
- Client-oriented approach with the ability to deliver competitive pricing while preserving risk controls.
- Comfort with trading tools and systems such as Kondor, Bloomberg, and FXall, plus a willingness to support enhancements.
Qualifications
A master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics is required.
Experience Required
Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in FX trading and at least 5 years of experience in treasury.
