Role Summary

In this position, you will partner closely with the VP of Accounting, Finance and Treasurer and collaborate with teams across product, engineering, marketing, legal, and operations. This is a remote-first role, with optional office access in Irvine, California and New York, New York.

What You'll Do

  • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s product, business model, and financial outlook by immersing yourself in the organization.
  • Provide product managers and functional leaders with monthly business trend insights.
  • Contribute to short- and long-range planning, financial reporting, KPI variance analysis, and strategic projects.
  • Design, maintain, and improve financial models for annual budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated cash flow planning.
  • Create KPI frameworks, assess product-line results, and support decisions related to go-to-market planning, partnership discussions, and potential M&A opportunities.
  • Prepare concise, clear presentations that communicate findings to senior stakeholders.

What You Need

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business, or another quantitative discipline.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in an industry role involving financial modeling, such as investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance.
  • Strong analytical ability with experience working through complex models, interpreting raw data, and forming practical conclusions.
  • Excellent organization, efficiency, and a meticulous approach to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well across multiple teams.
  • A hands-on, collaborative mindset suited to a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong ownership, self-direction, and pride in the quality of your work.
  • High ethical standards, credibility, authenticity, and integrity.
  • Ambition to help launch impactful products and deliver with precision.
  • A belief that your work contributes to a broader life mission.
  • Optimism about creating positive societal change.
  • Genuine interest in Acorns’ mission and values.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay along with stock options.
  • A full benefits package for employees and their families.
  • Flexible work location, flexible hours, and paid time off.
  • 401(k) matching.
  • Monthly Acorns account contribution and a GoHenry account for family use.
  • Mindfulness and financial wellness resources, including Headspace and Addition Wealth.
  • Ongoing career development through training sessions, development planning, check-ins, and online learning tools.
  • Leadership development through the Roots Leadership Program for emerging leaders.
  • Community week onsite gatherings and virtual events.
  • A talented, mission-driven team focused on meaningful work.
  • The chance to help build something new and tackle major societal challenges.
