Job description
Role overview
A well-established Irish main contractor is looking for a Senior Estimator to strengthen its pre-construction team in North Dublin. This position is suited to someone who can help secure major residential work by building accurate, competitive bids and supporting the company’s growth pipeline.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and commercially strong tenders for construction projects.
- Examine drawings, specifications, and all tender documents to understand project scope.
- Handle several tender bids at once while meeting strict submission deadlines.
- Work with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing and quotations.
- Identify risks and commercial opportunities during the estimating and tendering process.
- Partner with commercial and site/operations teams to shape successful bid strategies.
- Contribute to value engineering and cost-planning activities.
Requirements
- At least 6 to 7 years of experience in an estimating position with a main contractor.
- Demonstrable success in preparing tenders for construction projects.
- Strong understanding of the Irish construction market and industry practices.
- A background in Quantity Surveying is considered a strong advantage.
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction Management.
Salary and benefits
The compensation package is €80,000 to €90,000 per year and includes a fuel card, pension, and a hybrid work arrangement with 4 days in the office and 1 day working remotely. The role also offers exposure to major, high-value construction projects and clear progression opportunities within a growing, established organisation.
