Role overview
This position is for a senior data analyst focused on finance-related analytics and analytics engineering. The role involves turning complex business questions into practical analytical outputs, building reliable data models and dashboards, and supporting better decision-making across Finance and other functions.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with Finance, Engineering, and business stakeholders to convert open-ended questions into well-defined analytical outputs.
- Examine financial and other relevant datasets, derive insights, and create dashboards that present information in a clear and user-friendly way.
- Develop high-quality SQL and Python code to power analytics processes and reusable analytical assets.
- Build, document, and maintain scalable data models with dbt or Paradime to support finance reporting and broader cross-functional use cases.
- Automate processes for collecting, cleaning, transforming, and deploying data so that analysis-ready information is consistently available.
- Help improve data quality, testing practices, documentation, and engineering standards across the analytics environment.
- Guide and support junior colleagues in SQL, modeling standards, and disciplined analytical methods.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and scientists while also learning from their expertise.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Informatics, or another quantitative discipline; professional certifications such as CFA are considered an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in analytics or analytics engineering, preferably in finance, fintech, or a commercial setting; exposure to data science is a plus.
- Strong hands-on ability in SQL and Python.
- Working knowledge of Git and version control practices.
- Practical experience with dbt or Paradime, along with a strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL best practices.
- Experience with modern cloud data warehouses such as Redshift is beneficial.
- Proven experience with at least one major BI or visualization platform, such as Tableau, Power BI, or a comparable tool.
- Excellent quantitative thinking and analytical problem-solving ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Perks and benefits
- Discounts on the company’s flagship products.
- Opportunity to work with multinational teams.
- Access to engaging events designed to create memorable experiences, not just standard team-building activities.
- Tools and support to develop professionally and take ownership from the outset.
- Pet-friendly workplace where employees can bring their furry companion to the desk.
