About Maas Construct
Maas Construct is a construction business within Maas Group Holdings, an Australian ASX-listed provider of construction materials, equipment, and services with operations spanning property, civil, infrastructure, and mining. Established in 2002, the group has developed a strong position across Construction Materials, Civil Construction and Hire, Real Estate, and Manufacturing and Equipment Sales.

Its ambition is to be a leading business across all areas of operation, driven by long-term growth, strong values, and regional pride, while delivering quality buildings and infrastructure for communities throughout regional Australia.
Role Overview
This is a fixed-term 18-month contract opportunity for an experienced Senior Contract Administrator. The position is focused on subcontract procurement and contract administration across major construction projects. It is a commercially important role that involves shaping the subcontract procurement approach for each project, managing contract administration activities, and ensuring accurate cost tracking and budget discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage the subcontract procurement approach for each project, including scope development, market engagement, and tender review.
- Direct the subcontract letting process by assessing tender submissions and recommending awards that suit project budgets and schedules.
- Keep subcontractor registers current and ensure subcontractors are properly reviewed, scoped, and engaged before work starts, while also handling variations and claims with timely assessment, records, and resolution.
- Assist the Senior Contracts Manager with subcontract negotiation and management of commercial risk.
- Carry out monthly subcontract payment evaluations and address payment disputes.
- Take responsibility for end-of-month cost reporting for allocated packages, protecting budget accuracy and identifying cost differences early.
- Maintain procurement, variation, and extension-of-time records across assigned projects.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in contract administration or commercial management within building construction.
- Proven ability to manage subcontract procurement and package letting on large-scale projects.
- Strong working knowledge of construction contract forms, SOPA requirements, and subcontract administration practices.
- A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Commerce.
- Experience using Jonas Premier or a similar construction commercial management platform.
- Strong commercial judgement, excellent attention to detail, and clear, professional communication skills.
- Highly organised and able to manage several procurement and reporting tasks at once.
- Comfortable handling subcontractor relationships and resolving commercial disagreements.
What you’ll get
- Job security within a large, integrated organisation, combined with the flexibility of a team focused on project delivery.
- Access to career development and training across Maas and the wider listed group.
- Employee benefits including discounts on retail, healthcare, gym memberships, and novated leasing.
- Workplace banking perks through Commonwealth Bank.
- Monthly Values Awards and recognition in the company newsletter.
- A comprehensive health and wellbeing program.
- A collaborative and supportive team culture, with the chance to contribute to meaningful projects across Australia.
