Role overview
KPMG Saudi Arabia is looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to join its ESG & Climate Advisory practice in Riyadh. The role is focused on helping clients shape and deliver sustainability, climate, and ESG transformation work across strategy, reporting, risk, and data management.
What you will work on
- Advise clients on ESG and climate risk assessments, reporting approaches, and strategy design.
- Help develop and execute ESG and decarbonization plans, including sustainability strategies, net-zero pathways, carbon footprint studies, and climate scenario analysis.
- Carry out double materiality assessments, ESG maturity reviews, and stakeholder mapping exercises.
- Prepare ESG disclosures and sustainability reports that align with mandatory and voluntary standards used in KSA, the wider region, and global reporting frameworks.
- Work on climate stress testing, physical and transition risk modelling, and sustainable finance advisory assignments.
- Contribute to the rollout of ESG and climate data tools, KPI tracking, dashboards, and digital reporting platforms.
- Keep current on global climate policy trends, ESG ratings approaches, and sector-specific transition risk developments.
Experience and knowledge needed
- 3 to 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Practical exposure to ESG and climate-related risk work, reporting, and strategy development.
- Working knowledge of major ESG and climate frameworks such as TCFD, TNFD, GHG Protocol, ISSB, GRI, SASB, CSRD, and EU Taxonomy.
- Understanding of ESG and climate disclosure expectations in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other GCC markets, including references such as SAMA, CMA, and Tadawul ESG guidance.
- Ability to manage ESG projects, prepare client-ready deliverables, and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
Preferred profile
- Arabic language ability is preferred.
- Prior consulting experience, especially with Big 4 firms or comparable consultancies, will be an advantage.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Sustainability, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CFA ESG, GARP SCR, SASB FSA, GRI, or similar climate-focused credentials are considered beneficial.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills are important.
- Good command of Excel and PowerPoint, plus familiarity with ESG or climate analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SBTi tools, and GHG Protocol platforms.
