Job description
About the Company
Dyson is focused on creating advanced technology that changes everyday experiences, with a strong emphasis on beauty and hair care. The company develops high-performance formulations and styling innovations designed to support hair health while delivering effective results without heat damage across all hair types and styles. As one of Dyson’s fastest-growing categories, the beauty business is expanding globally and aims to bring its products and experience to more shoppers worldwide.
Role Overview
Dyson is looking for a commercially minded and strategic Senior Commercial Manager to own product marketing for the Dyson Stylers range, with scope to contribute to new sub-categories as well. This role leads strategy development and go-to-market execution for a major category and works across teams including RDD, Consumer Marketing, Insights, Claims, Markets, and Operations to strengthen Dyson’s position in beauty technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Track consumer behavior, competitor activity, and market data to uncover opportunities and guide the category strategy for stylers.
- Lead the commercial workstream through the NPD stage-gate process, partnering with Engineering on product direction, with Operations and Supply on launch phasing and volumes, and with Quality to ensure performance standards are met.
- Build strong business cases and align stakeholders in different regions to secure support and execution readiness.
- Run proposition testing and consumer research to understand preferences, refine brand tone, and shape value-led messaging and claims.
- Develop the end-to-end 'how we sell' plan, covering initial messaging, funnel communication, range positioning, and product naming.
- Define claims strategy for launches and identify additional claim opportunities for the existing stylers range.
- Brief and motivate Beauty Consumer Marketing and Creative teams so they can deliver integrated 360-degree campaigns aligned to Dyson Beauty’s goals.
- Oversee packaging development and provide guidance for in-store merchandising and demonstration activity.
- Review post-launch results, then recommend improvements to campaign performance, messaging, and assortment strategy.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a proactive marketing professional with product or brand management experience, preferably in beauty or personal care. You should bring commercial judgment, strong analytical ability, and a track record of working effectively in fast-moving environments. The role also calls for excellent collaboration and communication skills, strong writing ability for product briefs, and comfort with data interpretation and product lifecycle management. Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking are important.
Additional Requirements
Dyson would especially value prior exposure to beauty technology and, ideally, technical or personal familiarity with T3/T4 hair types. Experience with curly and coily hair is preferred, and the role may involve acting as the team’s subject matter resource for T3/T4 hair. You would also work with Education, PR, and Dyson’s Curly+Coily team to ensure product strategies serve diverse shopper needs. International project experience or collaboration with global teams is considered an advantage.
Workplace Information
Dyson places a strong emphasis on campus culture and does not offer a standard hybrid arrangement for this role, as the company wants to preserve collaboration, creativity, and inventiveness in its workplace.
Equal Opportunity
Dyson is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes candidates from all backgrounds. Hiring decisions are made without regard to race, colour, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other protected dimension of diversity.
