The role calls for someone who can work independently with business and technology teams to uncover process issues, identify gaps, and lead improvements that produce measurable results.
What You’ll Do
- Run workshops, interviews, and collaborative working sessions with stakeholders from different functions to uncover business needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Guide discussions with the right questions, test assumptions, and help teams agree on the core problem statements and priorities.
- Convert stakeholder input into clear business goals, scope definitions, and success measures.
- Map existing workflows using standard techniques such as BPMN, swimlanes, and SIPOC when relevant.
- Spot inefficiencies, bottlenecks, control weaknesses, duplicate work, and manual bypasses, and estimate the effect where possible.
- Shape and validate future-state process designs so they support business objectives, compliance requirements, and practical operations.
- Assist with change impact assessments and support rollout or transition planning.
- Create detailed business documentation, including BRDs, functional requirement documents, user stories, process maps, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
- Make sure requirements are complete, testable, traceable, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
- Maintain traceability across delivery, including scope tracking and support for change management.
- Use data to confirm issues, establish baseline performance, and back up solution recommendations.
- Analyze trends, root causes, exceptions, and segments to understand what is driving process problems.
- Define reporting needs and help set KPIs to track improvement after implementation.
- Own the UAT approach in line with business goals.
- Develop and manage UAT plans, scenarios, cases, scripts, and defect triage activities.
- Work with business users during testing, ensuring execution stays on track and feedback is captured clearly.
- Coordinate with QA and development teams to verify fixes, confirm acceptance criteria, and support go/no-go decisions.
Experience & Background
The position requires 5+ years of Business Analyst experience, or equivalent experience delivering process and/or system improvements. Strong capability in business process mapping and redesign is essential, along with solid experience in requirements gathering and BRD preparation. You should also be comfortable leading UAT from start to finish, including planning, test case creation, coordination, and defect management.
Additional Requirements
You should bring strong data analysis skills, the ability to interpret information and use it to support decisions, and a track record of influencing stakeholders at different levels, including senior leaders. Clear written and verbal communication is important, especially when simplifying complex ideas into straightforward narratives or visuals. A sharp analytical mindset, strong problem-solving ability, and comfort working through ambiguity in complex environments are also expected. Experience in the Energy & Utilities sector is considered a strong advantage.
