Blue Monkey is a premium better-for-you beverage brand focused on natural, organic sparkling drinks and still tropical juice products. Its products are sold through large and small-format retailers across the United States, Canada, and international markets. The company is based in Woburn, Massachusetts.
The business has recently joined with Boyne Capital, a Miami-based private equity firm that aims to build long-term, collaborative partnerships with its portfolio companies and help them move into their next stage of growth. Blue Monkey is expanding through organic growth and is also positioned to scale further through strategic acquisitions.
Role summary
Blue Monkey is looking for an experienced brand marketing leader in the CPG food and beverage space to take ownership of brand strategy and demand generation across the full portfolio. The role reports to the CEO, has exposure to the sponsor and board, and sits on the leadership team in a lean, fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key responsibilities
- Create and roll out integrated marketing plans that strengthen brand awareness, encourage trial, and drive repeat purchases by turning consumer insight, category movements, and data into practical action.
- Set and oversee the brand strategy and positioning across multiple brands, categories, and retail channels.
- Lead consumer research efforts such as panel studies, taste and flavor feedback testing, and eye-tracking analysis.
- Convert brand, trade, and consumer insights into a product innovation roadmap that identifies the next flavor, launch timing, and go-to-market approach.
- Develop and manage organic social media content that stays aligned with brand guidelines and the brand book.
- Oversee retail media activity across key e-commerce and retail platforms.
- Own end-to-end campaign and launch delivery, from concept development through launch, optimization, and performance reporting.
- Coordinate external agencies and vendors covering creative, media, and content work.
- Review performance data and remain close to market trends to improve impact and return on investment.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of marketing experience in CPG food and beverage, with exposure to well-established brands.
- Hands-on experience taking product innovation from development through execution.
- Background managing outside marketing agencies.
- Experience running campaigns across digital, retail, and/or field marketing channels.
- Working knowledge of syndicated data platforms such as SPINS, Nielsen, or Circana.
- Must be based in Greater Boston and available to work onsite three days each week.
- Ability to travel up to 25% across North America as needed.
Preferred background
- A career that combines both startup or emerging-brand experience and large CPG experience.
- Experience managing national retail accounts.
