Role overview
The Senior Associate Transport role in Coimbatore is focused on organizing and running employee transportation in a way that is efficient, economical, and safe. The position reports to the Manager Transport and requires close attention to company rules as well as local legal requirements.
Core responsibilities
- Create and manage transport schedules that improve employee commute efficiency.
- Work with transport vendors, handle contract discussions, and make sure service standards are met.
- Review routes and identify improvements that cut down travel time and transportation costs.
- Maintain compliance with safety rules, internal policies, and applicable transport regulations.
- Track vehicle upkeep, fuel usage, and the availability of transport assets.
- Respond to employee transport issues and resolve them promptly.
- Watch transportation spend closely and support cost-reduction efforts.
- Use GPS-based tracking tools and transport management systems for live monitoring.
- Keep records of schedules, incidents, and vendor agreements in an organized manner.
Required profile
- A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- Hands-on experience in transport logistics or fleet operations.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Strong spoken and written communication along with negotiation skills.
- Comfortable using transport management applications and GPS tracking tools.
- Able to handle pressure and manage several tasks at the same time.
Preferred experience
- Prior exposure to corporate employee transportation management.
- Familiarity with local transport laws and compliance requirements.
- Additional certification in logistics or fleet management is advantageous.
