Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Architect with BIM management expertise to oversee Building Information Modeling activities across multidisciplinary projects in Doha, Qatar. This position plays a key strategic role in setting BIM direction, aligning teams and external partners, and ensuring design outputs meet project expectations, international standards, and local authority requirements.
The role blends architectural know-how, BIM leadership, and project coordination, supporting a practice focused on innovation, efficiency, and strong design consultancy delivery.
BIM Leadership and Management
- Set up, apply, and uphold BIM standards, workflows, and execution strategies across projects.
- Serve as the main BIM reference point for architectural workstreams, making sure company, client, and project BIM needs are met.
- Develop and maintain BIM Execution Plans, Model Responsibility Matrices, and related BIM governance documents.
- Manage model coordination, clash checks, and issue handling together with structural, MEP, and infrastructure teams.
Architectural Design and Technical Oversight
- Oversee architectural BIM models through concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction phases.
- Make sure architectural outputs comply with local codes, regulatory authority requirements, and international benchmarks.
- Assess architectural models, drawings, and deliverables for correctness, quality, and buildability.
- Contribute technical guidance and practical problem-solving to support design development.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Work closely with internal multidisciplinary teams and outside consultants to keep BIM integration smooth.
- Communicate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders on BIM-related topics.
- Join coordination meetings and provide progress updates and BIM status reports.
Team Leadership and Mentoring
- Supervise, coach, and support BIM architects and modelers.
- Allocate work, track progress, and help ensure deliverables are completed on time.
- Run internal BIM learning sessions and encourage ongoing improvement in digital workflows.
Quality Control and Innovation
- Apply QA/QC checks to BIM models and related outputs.
- Keep current with evolving BIM tools, software releases, and industry practices.
- Help improve automation, templates, and processes to increase consistency and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; a master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in architectural design with substantial BIM involvement.
- At least 5 years of experience as a BIM Manager or BIM Lead on medium to large projects.
- Exposure to multidisciplinary project types such as residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, healthcare, and infrastructure.
- Advanced Revit capability, along with strong working knowledge of Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 / ACC.
- Good command of BIM coordination, clash detection, and ISO 19650 requirements.
- Strong abilities in leadership, communication, and multitasking.
- Detail-focused, quality-conscious, and client-oriented mindset.
- English fluency is required; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
- Candidates currently based in Qatar are preferred.
