About the role

Chola is looking for a Chartered Accountant with solid experience in Expected Credit Loss (ECL) work within the BFSI sector. The position is based in Chennai at Tamarai Tech Park and requires someone who can work with large financial datasets, generate practical credit-risk insights, and support financial reporting.

Role overview

This opening is for a Senior Analyst / Manager level professional who can contribute to ECL modelling, validation, and reporting in line with IFRS 9 and Ind AS 109 requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Build, validate, and report on ECL models in accordance with regulatory standards such as IFRS 9 and Ind AS 109.
  • Study credit-risk data and turn it into insights that help with provisioning decisions.
  • Work through and manage large sets of finance and risk information.
  • Use SQL, Python, or R to develop and support analytical models.
  • Create reports and dashboards on credit risk for internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with risk, finance, and business functions for data checks and reporting support.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory expectations and audit needs.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Must be a Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Should have about 5 years of experience in BFSI, ideally in ECL or credit-risk related work.
  • Hands-on experience in Expected Credit Loss is required.
  • Comfort with handling large datasets is essential.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or comparable tools is needed.
  • Should understand financial instruments and credit-risk methodologies well.

Preferred attributes

  • Prior exposure to IFRS 9 and Ind AS 109 frameworks.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Capability to work independently and manage stakeholder relationships.
