Role overview

This opening is for a Senior Analyst in Financial Planning on a 12-month contract, based at the Kinsale manufacturing site and reporting to the Associate Director Finance. The role sits within the Financial Planning & Reporting team and plays an important part in helping the site meet its financial commitments through close collaboration with cross-functional partners.

What you will do

  • Serve as the main finance contact for business-area queries and help partners stay on track with financial commitments.
  • Build financial business cases and perform analysis to support decisions.
  • Represent finance in governance meetings for the business area.
  • Help drive productivity initiatives that improve cost competitiveness.
  • Take ownership of the monthly financial close and ensure monthly, quarterly and year-end results are recorded correctly.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Compile the monthly metrics pack for the site or business area, interpret performance against plan, highlight trends, and forecast likely variances.
  • Support leadership with the annual business plan, strategic plan, and quarterly forecasting cycles.
  • Own product costing activities, including standard cost setup and maintenance for new products in line with global requirements.
  • Complete the annual standard cost update as part of the business planning process.
  • Maintain ownership of inventory SOX and operational controls and ensure continuous compliance.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Follow all relevant compliance policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Deliver work accurately and efficiently, with a strong right-first-time approach.
  • Contribute to finance innovation initiatives and take on additional projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, CIMA, CPA, or ACCA, plus at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong technical and analytical capability, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Curiosity and a clear drive to improve existing ways of working.
  • The ability to simplify complex topics and explain them clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Previous exposure to US GAAP is an added advantage.
  • Experience with SAP would be beneficial.
  • Product costing experience is also preferred.
