The Opportunity

Blueberry Pediatrics is seeking a dynamic and meticulous Accountant to manage diverse accounting operations. Initially, the role will concentrate on migrating historical financial data into a new ERP system. Following a successful data migration, the position will evolve into a full-time Controller role, taking on broader financial oversight and leadership responsibilities.

What You'll Own

• ERP Data Migration: Lead the migration and reconciliation of accounting data from existing systems to a new ERP platform (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) for five legal entities, two of which have payroll. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial records, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
• Invoicing & Collections: Generate and dispatch customer invoices monthly, monitor accounts receivable, and proactively pursue outstanding payments. Address billing inquiries with clients to facilitate timely collections.
• Vendor Invoice Processing: Review, categorize, and process vendor invoices for payment, maintaining accurate accounts payable records. Communicate with vendors regarding any issues and manage the amortization of prepaid expenses.
• Month-End Close: Prepare and post necessary journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and support internal/external audits.
• Statutory Reporting: Prepare and submit required financial reports in accordance with regulatory requirements. Assist with tax filings and coordinate with external tax advisors.

Experience You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in comprehensive accounting functions, including invoicing, collections, payables, and financial reporting.
• Practical experience with ERP systems and data migration projects.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory reporting mandates.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

Career Progression

This role begins with a critical focus on migrating historical accounting data to our new ERP system. Upon successful completion of this project, the individual will have the opportunity to lead the accounting department, implement process enhancements, and contribute to strategic financial planning.

Additional Information

Compensation includes a base salary ranging from $110,000 to $120,000, dependent on location and experience. The role also offers an equity grant and comprehensive benefits, with Blueberry covering 99% of premiums. Employees receive a complimentary Blueberry membership subscription.
