Role overview
Ali & Sons Holding LLC is looking for a meticulous Senior Accountant in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The position plays a key part in keeping financial records accurate, supporting reporting and compliance activities, and contributing to stronger controls and business growth.
What you will do
- Support the supervision of accounting staff and help coordinate routine accounting activities.
- Keep accounting entries, records, and back-up documents accurate and up to date.
- Handle fixed asset accounting, including tracking assets and coordinating with other departments as needed.
- Reconcile related-party balances and ensure the supporting documentation is complete.
- Assist with monthly and year-end consolidation work, as well as financial closing tasks.
- Make sure accounting work follows IFRS requirements and internal finance policies.
- Track bank accounts and financial facilities to maintain proper oversight and control.
- Prepare and issue financial reports and management accounts within required deadlines.
- Help build and improve accounting policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
- Share ideas and recommendations that improve financial control and operational effectiveness.
- Work with external auditors and provide the information needed for audit support.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy, compliance, and reporting in line with organizational goals.
Requirements
- A university degree in Finance or Accounting, along with a professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or an equivalent credential.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally gained in a corporate setting.
- Solid knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and consolidation accounting.
- Good understanding of IFRS standards and financial compliance practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with SAP or similar accounting systems.
- Strong analytical thinking, organization, and problem-solving ability.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic will be considered an advantage.
