Job description
Role overview
Anduril Industries is hiring a SEIT Lead to support the Omen program in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Omen is a runway-independent hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle designed to combine long endurance, useful payload capacity, and mission flexibility in a Group 3 platform. The role sits within a fast-moving development environment where systems engineering and testing are used as practical tools to accelerate capability delivery and meet operational needs.
This position is centered on new aircraft development and requires someone who can translate local operational needs into system requirements, guide test strategy, and help shape a lean local development capability. The work environment is highly accountable and focused on moving from concept to flight in months rather than years.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers and end users to refine the regional concept of operations and convert those needs into high-level requirements that inform design choices.
- Apply agile systems engineering practices that are appropriately scaled for rapid development, including support for system design reviews.
- Own system interface management and build integration approaches for sovereign mission systems and payloads, including test objectives and execution plans.
- Coordinate in-country development efforts with partner organizations, covering component bench testing, environmental testing, HIL/HITL integration setups, and flight testing of surrogate and Omen platforms.
- Work with partners and local authorities to obtain operational approvals related to airspace, frequency use, safety, physical separation, and suitable test facilities.
- Help establish and use local development facilities to strengthen in-country capability.
- Organize and run large test and demonstration events, including resourcing, logistics, equipment movement across borders, test readiness reviews, test direction, and reporting.
- Perform safety assessments with a practical understanding of hazards and mitigations, always prioritizing team safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related aviation technical field.
- At least 10 years of experience in aerospace or product development/test and evaluation settings, along with exposure to aviation safety or quality systems.
- Strong hands-on systems engineering capability, with an understanding of both its strengths and its limitations.
- Proven experience across the full test lifecycle, including writing test plans and procedures, assessing risk, reducing hazards, running readiness reviews, leading test events, and handling unexpected issues.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary design teams to shape test requirements.
- Comfort working with stakeholders and partners to solve problems quickly and support fast test execution.
- Experience with verification and validation, qualification, certification, airworthiness, and permission-to-operate activities.
- Background in ground and flight testing of crewed or uncrewed developmental aircraft at the system or platform level, preferably Group 3 or larger.
- Knowledge of Middle East airspace practices and related regulatory environments is an advantage.
- Experience working in the Middle East and Arabic language ability are beneficial.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in the United States, United Kingdom, or Australia.
Perks and compensation
The US base salary range for this position is $182,000 to $272,000. Compensation may vary depending on experience, education, training, critical skills, and business considerations. Most full-time offers also include highly competitive equity grants as part of the total package.
Full-time employees are also offered a competitive benefits package that is described as top-tier and available at little or no cost to employees.
