Job description
Overview
This opportunity is for experienced security officers interested in upcoming placements in Canberra, ACT, within a highly protected security setting. The role is being offered on a casual, part-time, or full-time basis, with 12-hour day and night shifts available.
A current NV1 security clearance, or a higher clearance level, is essential. Australian citizenship is mandatory because of the clearance requirements. The position is suited to professionals who can operate in a secure, structured environment and work closely with experienced personnel.
Key Duties
- Manage entry access, verify visitors, and complete sign-in procedures.
- Carry out security patrols inside and outside the site.
- Observe CCTV feeds and identify unusual activity.
- Escort contractors, visitors, and other authorised individuals as needed.
- Record, report, and escalate security incidents appropriately.
- Keep logs and other site records accurate and up to date.
- Respond to alarms and other security-related events.
- Follow all site security rules, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Deliver professional customer service and maintain effective stakeholder communication.
Requirements
- Valid ACT security licence.
- Australian citizenship.
- Current NV1 security clearance, or higher.
- Current first aid certificate.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Availability for rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening.
