Security Officer

Role overview

Securitas UK is recruiting a Security Officer for its Edinburgh site. This is a site-based, full-time position offering 42 hours per week on a rotating pattern of 4 days on/4 days off, then 4 nights on/4 nights off.

The hourly pay is £13.61. The role is intended for someone who wants a meaningful career in security, with scope to learn, build confidence, and progress in a supportive environment.

What you will do

• Carry out regular patrols of assigned areas to spot and discourage suspicious behaviour.
• Perform detailed searches in line with company procedures and site rules.
• Keep clear, accurate logs and complete required incident and observation paperwork.
• Work closely with colleagues, supervisors, and outside authorities to report matters and support incident response.
• Offer courteous and professional customer service to staff, visitors, and guests.

Eligibility and requirements

• Must be eligible for SC Clearance.
• Must hold British nationality.
• Must have lived continuously in the UK for the last 5 years.
• Must have the right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• Valid SIA licence is required.
• Should be physically fit for site patrol duties.
• Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills are needed.
