Security Bodyguard cum Driver

Role Overview

This position combines executive protection with professional driving. The selected person will safeguard a VIP client while also handling the assigned vehicle with careful, defensive driving and strong discretion. Deployment may be across India, depending on whether the assignment is for a corporate, residential, or diplomatic client.

Reporting Line

The role reports to the Assignment Manager, the client’s Security Coordinator, or the G4S Executive Protection team lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide close protection to the assigned client during travel, public movement, and at residences or work locations.
• Stay alert at all times to identify and reduce possible threats.
• Escort the client safely between destinations and coordinate with local security teams when required.
• Carry out route checks, assess risks, and prepare backup plans before movement.
• Drive the assigned vehicle safely in line with traffic laws and VIP movement protocols.
• Remain composed in congested traffic, crowd situations, and emergency conditions.
• Keep the vehicle clean, adequately fueled, and mechanically fit for duty.
• Inspect the vehicle before trips and report any mechanical concerns promptly.
• Respond quickly to attacks, accidents, or medical emergencies.
• Move the principal to safety and notify law enforcement or the control room according to procedure.
• Provide basic first aid or arrange emergency medical support when needed.
• Protect all client information, including schedule, location, and personal matters.
• Maintain professional behavior, politeness, and suitable language at all times.
• Never disclose client-related information directly or indirectly.
• Safeguard the vehicle and monitor the surroundings during stops and drop-offs.
• Escalate any suspicious movement near the client’s property or vehicle.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following conditions: minimum 10th pass, with 12th pass preferred; a valid LMV driving licence; and 3 to 5 years of accident-free driving experience. Prior work in personal protection, VIP driving, bodyguard assignments, ex-servicemen background, or PSO roles is preferred. Candidates should be 28 to 50 years old, physically fit, alert, and well-built, with a minimum height of 5'8" (172 cm).

Working Conditions

Duty hours can be long and flexible based on the VIP’s schedule. The role may involve inter-city or outstation travel. Depending on the client’s SOP, the driver may need to wear a uniform or formal civil clothing. Weekend and public holiday availability is also required.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay is aligned with the highly skilled category, with possible extra payments based on risk level and working hours. Additional allowances may be provided for night duty, travel, or outstation assignments. Statutory benefits include PF, ESI, bonus, gratuity, leave, and insurance coverage. Accommodation and meals may also be arranged depending on the client site or remote duty location.

Possible internal growth path: Security Bodyguard cum Driver to Executive Protection Officer, then Close Protection Team Lead, VIP Security Coordinator, and Regional EP Manager.
