Key Duties

The custodian will be responsible for keeping assigned spaces clean, organized, and safe while following company and client standards.

• Keep assigned areas tidy, including classrooms, corridors, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
• Sweep floors, remove waste, mop spills, and clear debris from designated areas.
• Check trash containers regularly and empty them when required.
• Use cleaning chemicals and powered equipment correctly to avoid damaging surfaces or fixtures.
• Report minor or major repair needs, or requests for building-system additions, to the lead cleaner or manager.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, teammates, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Gather, sort, and place recyclables in the proper bins.
• Dust and clean desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, windowsills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
• Polish durable surfaces such as wood and stainless steel.
• Clean tabletops, seating, and equipment in food-service areas.
• Move furniture, boxes, cabinets, crates, and equipment as needed for cleaning, using hand trucks when necessary.
• Wash interior glass, including windows, partitions, and mirrors, with suitable cleaning tools and solutions.
• Handle seasonal outside tasks such as sweeping walkways, raking leaves, cutting grass, and removing snow.
• Keep restrooms clean and polished.
• Follow all safety, security, compliance, and quality requirements set by the company, clients, and regulators.

Qualifications

No prior experience is required, and training will be provided on the job. A high school diploma, GED, or college degree is not necessary. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Previous customer service experience and one year of related work experience are preferred.
