SAP TM Functional Consultant

Role overview

We are hiring an SAP TM Functional Consultant with 6 to 15 years of experience to support transportation management solution design, implementation, and ongoing support. The role calls for solid knowledge of logistics and supply chain business processes, plus practical exposure to full-cycle implementations and system integration.

Location and notice period

This opportunity is based in Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, or Gandhinagar. The expected notice period is immediate to 30 days.

Core responsibilities

• Take part in and help drive complete SAP TM implementation projects.
• Set up SAP TM components according to business needs.
• Build transportation management solutions that are scalable and efficient.
• Review client processes and identify opportunities to improve them.
• Provide functional input for transportation planning and execution.
• Convert business requirements into clear functional specifications.
• Support integration with SAP SD, SAP MM, and preferably SAP EWM or other logistics platforms.
• Collaborate with technical teams on interfaces such as CIF and middleware connections.
• Configure and manage transportation networks, freight units, freight orders, carrier selection, tendering, charge handling, cost management, freight settlement, invoicing, and cost allocation.
• Handle order integration, planning profiles, optimizer setup, scheduling, and execution in SAP TM.
• Maintain master data such as business partners, products, transportation resources, and dangerous goods.
• Prepare functional documentation and test scenarios, and support SIT, UAT, and production release activities.
• Work with technical teams to track defects and ensure timely resolution.

Experience and technical requirements

• Overall experience of 6 to 15 years, with a strong concentration in SAP TM.
• At least 12 end-to-end SAP TM implementations.
• Hands-on expertise in CIF integration models, transportation networks, freight unit building, optimizer configuration, order tendering, carrier determination, and transportation charge management.

Preferred background

• Experience with S/4HANA Embedded TM.
• Exposure to SAP EWM integration.
• Familiarity with global logistics operations.
• Understanding of dangerous goods management.

Qualification and application fit

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, or an equivalent field is required. SAP TM certification is preferred. Any graduate may apply if they match the required profile.
