SAP MM Functional Lead

Role Overview

STL Digital is looking for an experienced SAP MM Functional Lead to support enterprise application work from Mumbai in a hybrid setup. The role calls for strong SAP functional expertise, the ability to work across business and technical teams, and hands-on experience with SAP MM, SD, and related integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Study complex business processes in detail, translate requirements into system solutions, and document customer needs clearly.
• Run workshops with business users to gather and refine requirements.
• Align business processes and objectives with system capabilities, including necessary product or process changes.
• Configure, customize, test, and support SD-related solutions while identifying gaps and practical workarounds.
• Partner with clients to troubleshoot issues, resolve high-priority problems, and manage emergency transport changes when required.
• Create functional designs, test cases, and result documentation.
• Recommend process improvements and system enhancements proactively.
• Support both new implementations and ongoing support engagements as a functional consultant.
• Serve as the bridge between business teams and technical teams.
• Provide user guidance, ad-hoc training, and day-to-day support.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and mentor less experienced team members when needed.
• Handle special business scenarios such as consignment, third-party sales, rush orders, and cash sales.
• Work with advanced features including batch determination, packing, serialization, material determination, material listing, material exclusion, and free goods determination.
• Apply knowledge of ATP availability checking, variant configuration, EDI/IDocs, and intercompany billing.
• Use BAPI, BADI, and user exits for SD and MM-related work.
• Support integrations across SAP MM, FI/CO, WM/EWM, FSCM, PP-PM, SAP products such as APO, IBP, GTS, and Ariba, as well as third-party systems like warehouse management and CRM/Salesforce platforms.
• Work with CDS views for master and transactional data in S/4HANA embedded operational analytics.

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
• Graduate-level engineering qualification such as B.E. or B.Tech.
• Strong functional knowledge of SAP MM and related SAP processes.
• Practical experience with BAPI, BADI, and user exits in SD and MM.
• Solid understanding of integration with SAP FI/CO and other modules.
• Familiarity with EDI, IDOCs, ALE, and standard plus enhanced integration scenarios.
• Exposure to SAP ecosystem integrations including APO, IBP, GTS, and Ariba.
• Ability to work with external legacy systems, warehouse management systems, and CRM tools.
• Experience in support and implementation environments.
