Sanitation Worker

Role Overview

Wonderbrands is looking for Sanitation Workers to support its Etobicoke, Ontario facility at 122 Carrier Drive. This position is part of a leading Canadian bakery group with a long history of producing packaged breads and operating multiple bakery manufacturing sites across the country.

Pay

The hourly wage for this role is CAD 18.00.

What You’ll Do

• Keep the production floor and the nearby work areas clean and orderly.
• Operate cleaning tools and equipment such as scrapers, brushes, pads, vacuums, scrub machines, compressed air, and power washers to clean floors, ceilings, and walls in the bakery, including warehouse, freezer, refrigerators, packing areas, and production spaces.
• Carry out lockout, dismantling, cleaning, and sanitizing of production machinery when required, following the master sanitation schedule and standard operating procedures.
• Follow cleaning methods that meet Good Manufacturing Practices and health and safety requirements.
• Gather waste and recyclable items from the production area and dispose of them appropriately.
• Help clean up significant spills of dry or liquid product when needed.
• Complete special sanitation tasks according to the master sanitation schedule.

What We’re Looking For

• Background in industrial or warehouse sanitation and cleaning.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably food manufacturing.
• Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents.
• Strong eye for detail and the ability to meet company cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-moving environment with a self-driven approach and willingness to learn.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Capability to work independently with little supervision.
• Some mechanical understanding.
• Ability to work efficiently while following safe work practices.
• Strength to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Good numeracy skills.
• Ability to think through problems, troubleshoot, and respond appropriately to situations.
• Strong multitasking ability.
• Consistent, reliable attendance.
