About the Role
Join our sanitation team and play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality within our poultry processing operations. This hands-on position involves cleaning and sanitizing equipment, production areas, and facilities to meet stringent USDA, food safety, and company sanitation requirements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute cleaning and sanitization of production equipment, tools, and work zones in compliance with USDA, food safety, and company sanitation protocols.
- Prepare, mix, and safely apply cleaning agents, strictly adhering to all personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines.
- Conduct post-sanitation inspections of equipment and areas to verify thorough cleanliness and immediately report any identified issues or potential hazards.
- Maintain a tidy and secure work environment by clearing debris, rinsing surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of all tools and cleaning chemicals.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to accomplish sanitation tasks efficiently and foster a positive, safety-conscious atmosphere.
- Adhere to comprehensive sanitation procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and all safety, food safety, and biosecurity mandates.
- Undertake additional sanitation tasks as required to ensure production readiness and meet operational objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and company goals.
What You’ll Need
- Education: A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in poultry, the food industry, or manufacturing is advantageous.
- Skills: Capability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, strong communication abilities, capacity to understand instructions and apply common sense, keen attention to detail, and a collaborative team-player attitude.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in refrigerated conditions (10°F to 40°F), stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 40 lbs.
