Job description

About the Role

Illumina is working to broaden access to genomic technologies so that better health outcomes can reach people across the world. The company’s work supports important discoveries in human health, including earlier detection of disease, improved diagnosis, and new treatment options. Joining the team means contributing to meaningful projects in an environment built on collaboration, inclusion, and innovation.

Role Summary

This position supports APAC Sales Representatives by partnering with the business to help execute commercial strategy and meet sales targets. The role focuses on clear communication, training on new system capabilities, process improvements, and better use of third-party sales resources so users can move efficiently through the Lead-to-Order Fulfillment workflow. It also supports data-driven decisions by encouraging the use of analytics tools in everyday sales operations. Working with APAC Commercial Operations leadership, the analyst helps define performance measures and management programs that strengthen the Sales Organization. This is an internal role with minimal travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusted working relationships with APAC Sales Leadership and act as a business partner.
  • Work with Global Commercial Operations to represent APAC needs and serve as a subject matter resource for enhancement and process-improvement work across areas such as CRM, quota management, and sales operations roadmaps.
  • Refine core processes that protect the accuracy and reliability of commercial data used for business analysis.
  • Prepare advanced analyses that surface trends, patterns, and business drivers in a clear way.
  • Support Sales Leadership and Global Commercial Operations in administering Territory Design (ETM) within SFDC.
  • Coordinate with other regional Sales Operations teams to exchange best practices, resolve process challenges, and maintain functional alignment.
  • Support account planning, territory planning, and customer profiling across the region while staying aligned with global program updates.
  • Partner with the Regional Funnel team to support KPIs and processes that follow global standards.
  • Encourage adoption of commercial systems and enablement tools through user education, onboarding, and training.
  • Maintain CRM as the primary source of truth for pipeline development and account segment upkeep.

Requirements

  • Fluent written and spoken Japanese is required to manage Japanese-language documentation and communicate with the Japan Sales Team.
  • Strong written and spoken English is needed to work effectively with global stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering quality work on time.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, contribute in team environments, and work independently when needed.
  • Solid analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
  • Understanding of go-to-market principles, key business metrics for data-led decisions, and customer engagement processes.
  • A flexible, positive, and proactive mindset, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and handle challenging internal or external situations.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, plus the ability to learn and navigate new software quickly.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Background in Commercial Operations, Sales Operations, FP&A, or a similar commercial support function is preferred.
  • Experience with web-based tools is preferred; familiarity with SAP and Salesforce.com is an advantage.

Additional Information

This is an internal position and involves minimal travel. The role is intended to support APAC operations and requires reasonable flexibility as business needs change.
