Role overview

Soho House is hiring a Runner for Soho Farmhouse (Pen Yen) in Chipping Norton, England. In this role, you will support the restaurant team by keeping service flowing smoothly between the kitchen, bar, and front-of-house. The position focuses on prompt food and beverage delivery, maintaining a tidy service environment, and helping create a polished member experience.

What the role involves

• Move food and drink from the kitchen or bar to the correct tables quickly and accurately.
• Support waiting staff so members receive attentive and high-quality service.
• Act as a reliable connection between the kitchen/bar teams and the dining floor.
• Keep service stations, equipment, and surrounding areas clean, organised, and ready for use.
• Look after an assigned section and remain accountable for service in that area.
• Build positive relationships with members to help deliver personalised hospitality.
• Prepare table items in advance, including condiments, lemon wraps, butter portions, and similar additions.
• Polish cutlery and make sure it is ready before service begins.
• Carry out opening and closing tasks, including setting up and breaking down stations.
• Handle all service equipment carefully and store it correctly after use.
• Attend team meetings and daily tastings to stay updated on menu changes and specials.

What the employer is looking for

• Previous experience of 2–3 years in a similar premium dining setting.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverages, including wine service.
• Confident people skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• A practical, hands-on attitude with a professional and polished presence.
• Clear communication and good organisational ability.
• Comfort using POS systems and reservation tools.
